Answering the Challenge Pt.2
Oct 31Fri,2008 / Category: Personal /
Hey, everyone! I am currently in Chicago, IL with Min. Yodit attending the Ravi Zacharias Founders Week Event. This is a conference which Dr. Ravi holds each year to discuss how his ministry can have greater impact and reach more people with the gospel. This year I have been asked to talk about the work we are doing the area of evangelism and apologetic training in Detroit and other urban areas. And I can’t tell you how proud I am to be able to search about the overwhelming success of our recent Answering the Challenge (ATC) event. Hundreds of you supported this 3 day conference as we made the case on “Why the Bible is Reliable”. I want to especially thank Dr. Peter Williams for joining us from Cambridge. I hope that each one of you who attended were blessed and even more importantly I pray that you left with a deeper passion to study and know God’s word. You can be confident that the Bible is trustworthy and divine and that it possesses the power to transform your life. Finally I want you to know that over the next several I will continue to answer some of the questions that you submit to us through my blog. So make sure you check in with us often. Later this week I will respond to the question “Will we know each other in heaven?”
My team and I want to hear some of your feedback. We would love to know how you felt about ATC. So please share some of your thoughts in our comments section. Your remarks are truly valued and welcomed.
May God’s best be yours! - Pastor Chris
2 Comments :Kisha Martin I just want to comment on the fact that I just had a conviction in my spirit and I decided that I needed to ask my pastor for forgiveness as well as Jesus. I did call to set up a meeting to discuss some of my behaviors and my absence from my church family. I had no idea that Pastor Brooks was out of the country. I am ready for my change and I am so blessed to have a church family like Evangel. I believe that while I was praying to God about my desire to do His will for my life that I was being prayed for as well. I am so glad that I have answered The Lord and asked the Holy Spirit to forgive me, lead me and strengthen me. At that very moment I picked up the phone and dialed the church office, spoke to Nicole, left a physical message along with a message on Ian’s voicemail . I did not know about a challenge, I just knew I was ready to take on one. I wanted to send this because I would like to know for my own faith’s sake ; Was this a time that Pator Brooks was praying for his sheep even his lost sheep that strayed away (sheep being the congregation). I am one of those sheep and I am ready for my life to be transformed into the life that God has for me, not the life I thought I was for me. Thank God, for all of my Evangel Family that kept me in there prayers, I am grateful. I pray that Pastor Broks has a safe trip home and that he will forgive me for isolating myself, my gifts and my service for the Lord. I also want to thank Pastor’s wife Yodit Brooks for being so strong for all of us, I love you, for who and what you represent. I have humbled myself before you. Thank you for always keeping me in your prayers. I will end here. Sis. Kisha Martin Leave A Comment |

As a first time blogger I would like to first of all express the disticnt excitement I have for what this ministry tool means to me. This is an awsome opportunity to interact with you Pastor Brooks in an affable format that is expansive to so many. My prayer is that all the discussions will be a blessing to the body of Christ.
Secondly, Answering the Challenge 2 was an exilerating event to say the least. I was absolutely thrilled to be apart of such a monumental event. Every facet from the staging to the presenters and panel guest posed a Spirit filled and welcoming setting. Also, the God pleasing atmosphere proliferated from the time of entering the main santuary throughout the program and even after the closing with several gravitating discussions.
In Closing, “It was absolutely phenominal”!!!
